SERIES INFORMATION
  • Hawai‘i and Michigan met for the third time and first time in Ann Arbor.  Michigan improved to 3-0 in the series after the 63-3 win.
  • With the loss, Hawai‘i dropped to 9-24 all-time versus Big Ten squads.
  • Since 2004, UH has had 35 meetings with Power 5 conference teams. UH moved to 10-25 with today’s result.
 
STREAKS
  • UH has dropped eight straight versus ranked foes and 12 of its last 13 dating back to 2008.
  • Hawai‘i is 10-41 all-time versus nationally ranked teams, including a 1-16 mark on the road. UH is 3-16 all-time versus AP top 10 squads.
  • UH has dropped 26 of its last 27 games away from Aloha Stadium.
  • UH has lost 26 of its last 27 games on national television with its only win during that stretch against Colorado on CBS Sports Network to open the 2015 season.
  • After a pair of shutout losses at Ohio State and Wisconsin last year, UH’s field goal in the fourth quarter against Michigan ended a string of 11 straight scoreless quarters versus the Big 10.
  • UH’s streak of five straight games with a 100-yard rusher, dating back to last season, came to end.  
  • Long-snapper Brodie Nakama made his 40th straight start as a Rainbow Warrior, the longest streak on the team.
  • Dejon Allen made his 26th straight start, the longest on the offensive side of the ball. It was his first career start at left tackle.
          
TEAM NOTES
  • With an announced attendance of 110,222, UH played before its largest crowd in school history. It eclipsed the mark of 107,145 fans at Ohio State last season.
  • UH surrendered 63 points, the most points since Nevada scored 69 in 2012. Nick Rolovich was the offensive coordinator for that game.
  • The 60-point margin of defeat was the seventh largest in school history and the largest since falling 69-3 at Boise State in 2004.
  • UH forced its first turnover of the season when Damien Packer recorded an interception on Michigan’s first offensive play.
  • After not surrendering a single sack in its opener versus Cal, UH gave up four sacks vs. Michigan, including the first sack of the season when Ben Gedeon took down Ikaika Woolsey on a third-down play in the first quarter. All four sacks came in the first half.
  • Delano Hill’ 27-yard interception return in the second was the first pick-six by a UH opponent since 2013. (Kyle Fackrell, Utah State, 99 yards). Channing Stribling followed up with a touchdown of his own with a 51-interception return in the third quarter.
 
INDIVIDUAL PLAYER NOTES
  • Rigo Sanchez’ 55-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was a career-high and one-yard shy of the school-record of 56 yards shared by Jason Elam (1992) and Justin Ayat (2004).  
  • Senior safety Damien Packer recorded his first career interception when he picked off Wilton Speight on Michigan’s first offensive play of the game.
  • Sophomore Dru Brown saw his first action as a Rainbow Warrior, starting the second half. The junior college transfer finished 5-of-10 for 66 yards and one interception and also rushed for a team-high 49 yards.
  • After playing all of the second half in UH’s opener, true freshman Jeremiah Pritchard made his first career start at strong-side linebacker. He finished with five tackles, including a team-high 2.0 TFLs.
  • Senior Dejaun Butler took his first career kickoff return for 24 yards in second quarter.
