SERIES INFORMATION
  • Hawai‘i and New Mexico met for the 24th time and the 17th time in Honolulu.  UH leads 14-10 overall and 11-6 in Honolulu.
  • The Lobos have won the last seven meetings in the series, including three Mountain West meetings (2012, ’15, ’16). UH’s last win against New Mexico was a 35-13 win in Honolulu in 1993.  
  • UH dropped to 7-30 all-time in the Mountain West and 4-16 in conference home games.
 
STREAKS
  • Steven Lakalaka scored a rushing TD in his seventh straight game, tying a school record (Division I era) for consecutive games with a rushing TD (also by Alex Green 2010).  Lakalaka has a team-high 10 TDs and has scored in 8-of-9 games this season.
  • UH has not trailed at halftime in the last five games (last at Arizona).
  • UH has turned the ball over at least once in each game this season and in 18 straight dating back to last season.
  • Dejon Allen made his 33rd straight start, the longest streak on the offensive side of the ball.  
          
TEAM NOTES
  • In honor Military Appreciation Night and the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor UH wore commemorative helmets. On one side of the helmet read 12-7-41 for the date of the attack, while the other side bore the insignia for the Hawaii-based 442nd Regimental Combat Team.
  • UH held New Mexico to just 321 yards of total offense, a season-low for a UH opponent.
  • UH’s 21 points was the second lowest output this season, while it also marked first time in in five conference games this year that the Rainbow Warriors failed to surpass 30 points.
  • The 298 yards of total offense by UH was the second lowest output this year (232 at Michigan).
  • Tyrone Owen’s 72-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the longest play from scrimmage UH has allowed this year.
  • Lee Crosby’s 46-yd fumble return in the fourth quarter was the fourth defensive touchdown scored against UH this season.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Dru Brown scored his third rushing touchdown this year on a 6-yd run that cut the UH deficit to 14-7 in the second quarter
  • Trayvon Henderson recorded his second interception of the season and seventh of his career with his second-quarter pick of Lamar Jordan.  
  • Marcus Kemp recorded a 31-yard reception on the first play of the fourth quarter and now has 10 catches on the year over 30 yards.
  • Kemp finished with 89 yards and moved past Chris Roscoe (2,265) and Britton Komine (2,276) for 10th on the school’s all-time receiving list with 2,346 career yards.
  • Redshirt freshman Solomon Matuatia made his first career start at linebacker and finished with six tackles, including 0.5 TFL.
  • John Ursua gave UH its first punt return yardage of the season with a 30-yard return late in the first half that helped set up a UH touchdown.
  • Ikaika Woolsey scored the fourth rushing touchdown of his career when he scored from 2 yards out on a fake field goal attempt to end the first half.
  • Steven Lakalaka’s 10 rushing touchdowns this season are the most since Alex Green scored 18 rushing touchdowns in 2010.
