  • No. 7 Hawai‘i won its 24th-straight match with a sweep over two-time defending NCAA champions, No. 8/7-seeded Penn State, 25-22, 27-25, 25-16.
  • Hawai‘i is the only unseeded team left in the tournament as well as the only non-Power Five conference team remaining.
  • It marked UH’s 18th sweep of an opponent this season
  • It was Hawai‘i’s first win over Penn State in six tries
  • This is UH’s 19th NCAA regional final that they’ve appeared in. UH has a 9-9 record in regional final matches.
  • It is UH’s first regional final appearance since 2009
  • This is the 12th time that Hawai‘i has reached the regional final as a member of the Big West Conference with a 5-6 record. When UH was a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), the ‘Bows advanced to the Regional final seven times.
