Post Game QuotesHawai‘i vs. UNLVNov. 22, 2014 UH Head Coach Norm Chow On the win…You know I’ve been coaching for a long time and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a win like this. That just tells you about these kids and their resiliency and the great attitude they’ve had all year long. They don’t know how to quit, we don’t know how to quit. They go where they have to go and play where they have to play and every down we try as hard as we can.
On the game-winning play…Ikaika (Woolsey) knew to look inside and if he didn’t have a chance he had to throw it up and obviously Marcus (Kemp) had to make the play and he did that. I think that where they had to kick off really hurt them and Marcus made the play.
On this win happening on Senior Night…It’s never been about me and it’s always been about the players. To know the feeling that they have as they see their parents, loved ones, and friends on the field, it means all the world to them. They (the seniors) weren’t even our recruits but they bought in.
UNLV Head Coach Bobby Huack On his team’s performance..It’s been the same thing all year. Our guys played hard throughout. They keep fighting. They play every week. They don’t look like a team that’s only got two wins with a week left in the season.
On the two-point loss..It may be an all-time hard (loss) just because I don’t feel really good about the result. And I don’t feel really good about how it transpired.
On starting redshirt freshman QB Jared Lebowitz..Through the week, we talked about it. He practiced really well. (Blake Decker) couldn’t practice a lot so that’s what we decided to do.
On the first half..We had a lot of opportunities to be up by a bunch in the first half. But to Hawai‘i’s credit, they kept us from doing that.
