UH has lost six straight games, the third longest streak in school history
The last time UH lost six straight within a season was during the winless 1998 season.
The last time UH started a season 1-7 was in 2000, when it finished the regular season 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the Western Athletic Conference.
UH lost at Fresno State for the first time since a 70-14 setback in 2004. The Warriors had won in their previous three trips to Bulldog Stadium.
Fresno State now owns a 23-21-1 advantage in the series, including an 12-7-1 edge in games played in Fresno, Calif.
The Warriors are 0-5 on the road this season. UH is allowing an average of 47.0 points per game.
UH has lost six straight road games dating back to last year. Its last road win came at Idaho (16-14) in October 2011.
The Warriors have lost their last eight conference games dating back to last season, which is the third longest in school history.
The last time UH opened the season with five straight conference losses was in 2009. UH finished 3-5 in the WAC that year.
UH has yet to score on an opening drive in eight games this year. The Warriors have also been shutout in the first quarter in five of eight contests this year.
UH’s 39-point halftime deficit (42-3) was its largest since a 49-0 halftime score at Fresno State in 2004.
Sophomore kicker Tyler Hadden tied his career long with a 45-yard field goal in the second quarter.
UH surrendered five sacks, tied for a season-high (also at USC).
Junior safety John Hardy-Tuliau recorded his first interception of the year and team’s fourth of the season with his fourth-quarter pick of Greg Watson.
Cayman Shutter and Jeremy Higgins both saw action in the fourth quarter, the first time this year the reserves have seen extended action. Shutter completed one pass from 3 yards in two series, while Higgins directed UH’s lone touchdown drive of the day. He completed 4-of-5 pass for 54 yards and capped the drive with a 5-yd scoring run.
