UH lost a homecoming game for the first time since a 28-21 loss to Boise State in 2001. UH had won its last 10 Homecoming games and 12 of its last 13.
UH dropped to 37-25-1 all-time in Homecoming games since 1949.
UH dropped to 14-8 all-time against New Mexico, including an 11-5 mark in Honolulu. The Lobos have won the last five games in the series.
The Warriors have lost their last four conference home games dating back to last season and last six conference games overall.
The last time UH started a season 1-5 was in 2000, when it finished the regular season 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the Western Athletic Conference.
UH is off to its first 0-3 conference start since 2009 when the Warriors dropped their first five
WAC games.
The Warrior offense racked up a season-high 391 yards of total offense.
Sean Schroeder passed for a career-high 272 yards and completed 20-of-42 passes.
Will Gregory rushed for a career-high 99 yards. He has led the team in rushing in each of the first six games.
Scott Harding’s 51-yard touchdown reception was a career long and was the longest pass play for UH this season.
Freshman Jerrol Garcia-Williams recorded his first career sack with a first-quarter takedown of B.R. Holbrook.
Tyler Hadden’s 49-yard field with 16 seconds left in the first half was a career long.
Alex Dunnachie’s 61-yard punt in the first half was a season long.
UH has yet to score on an opening drive in six games this year.
Cole Gautshce’s 76-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the longest play from scrimmage by a UH opponent this year.
Mike Edwards returned his second kickoff for a touchdown this year with a 100-yard return in the third quarter. He is the first Warrior to return multiple kickoffs for a touchdown in a season since Malcolm Lane in 2007.
John Lister scored his team-high third touchdown of the year with a 1-yard plunge in the fourth quarter.
Making their first career starts for the Warriors were freshman Harold Moleni (TE), junior Charles Clay (SS), redhsirt freshman Kendrick Van Ackeran and freshman Marrell Jackson (FS). UH has had 25 different first-time Division I starters this year – 12 on offense and 13 on defense.
Moleni made his first career reception for 16 yards on UH’s first series of the second half. Jackson finished with a career-high 10 tackles, while Clay also had a career high in tackles with six.
