“The one thing we talked about going in here were three things of this season—we would be all in, everything we do, we go all in. We’re relentless in our attitude and we give a championship effort. And those are the three things we wrote up on the board, those are our three things as a team. That was kind of what we wanted to accomplish.We just wanted to really give effort tonight and play with some passion, I was pleased with that as a coach.”

 

The guys came out and did a great job, got us off to a pretty good start and then the bench came in and I was pleased with the bench too and how they played. At halftime we made some adjustments with Mamadou Diarra, who was really, really playing well and giving us fits the first half. I was really pleased with the bigs and how they guarded him (in the second half) and for the most part I was very pleased with our effort. There was some sloppiness out there, but overall the guys played within themselves. We only had nine turnovers, which I like and if we can continue that. The guys played solid with the ball and valued it and I was pleased.

 

I thought they would give us a battle and I think it was a good thing for us when they made that run and I was excited to see how the team would react to that. I think in the last ten minutes they scored seven points, so I think our conditioning kicked in there at the end and our bench did a nice job.

 

 

“I was excited. I did what coach Gib told me to do and I was successful at it. I didn’t know how many points I had, I was just playing hard. I didn’t realize until I came out of the game

 

“We were preparing for the season for a couple months now, going hard every day. I’m just happy that we won by so much so that we can put this behind us and move onto next game on Friday.”
