Post Game Quotes
Hawai‘i vs. Louisiana Tech
Jan. 23, 2010
UH Head Coach Bob Nash
On the team’s effort…
I can’t fault the effort of our guys. We did have a couple of moments there where we didn’t box out…but I can’t fault the effort of our guys...I can deal with the wins as long as we go out and give good effort and that’s what we’re going to do the rest of the way.
On the play of La Tech’s Jamel Guyton (14 pts, 11 rebs)…
We had a smaller guy on him [Guyton] and he just went around them and we didn’t do a very good job of boxing him out, we let him get 11 rebounds…We know he can shoot the basketball… We had a game plan and we, for the most part, stuck to it.
On UH’s shortage of guard play…
It’s not for the lack of work…That’s the nature of the beast right now. We don’t have anybody else over there [at guard] that can go out there and make shots, so we’ve got to go with what we have.
On the recent progress of forward Brandon Adams (20 pts, 9 rebs)…
We’re really pleased with the way he’s progressing and hope that he continues his role because the guy may have something in basketball after his college career is over. He is a hard worker, a great young man, he plays the game with a passion.
