Biography

2012 (Senior): Completed her career with five career medals at WAC Championships (three gold and two silver) and competed in four NCAA Regional events joining Novelle Murray, Meghan Weaver and Emily Sheppard as the school’s only four-time regional qualifiers…qualified for NCAA Championships final round in discus throw, becoming the school’s third discus thrower to compete at nationals following in the footsteps of Murray, who took ninth overall in 2007 and Joan Gago, who placed 19th in 1983…placed ninth with a mark of 177-10 (54.22m) which earned her second-team All-America honors…also placed eighth at the NCAA West Preliminary round with a mark of 176-6 (53.81m)…captured the gold medal at the WAC Outdoor Championship in the discus throw with a personal-best 179-1 (54.60m), which ranks second all-time in school history…won a silver medal in the shot put with a throw of 49-9.75 (15.18m), which ranks second all-time…won the bronze medal at WAC Indoor with a personal-best mark of 50-9.25 (15.47m), which ranks second all-time in indoor history.

2011 (Junior): Qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the discus for the second straight year…placed 37th with a throw of 148-7 (45.30m)…defended her discus gold medal at the WAC Outdoor Championships after throwing 161-8 (49.27m)…also placed 11th in the shot put at WAC Outdoor with a throw of 39-9.25 (12.12m)…season-best discus throw was 165-4 (50.39m) and shot put mark of 43-10 (13.36m)…placed seventh in the shot put at WAC Indoor with a mark of 43-3.75 (13.20m)...named academic all-WAC.

2010 (Sophomore): Qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the discus…finished 19th with a throw of 157-8 (48.07m)…captured the gold medal at the WAC Outdoor Championships with a huge personal best of 176-4 (53.76m)…ranked in the Top 20 nationally…named WAC Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Trojan Invitational…placed 10th in the shot put at the WAC Indoor Championships.

2009 (Freshman): Qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in the discus...seasonal-best discus throw of 165-11 at the Beach Invitational...placed fourth at the WAC Outdoor Championships and 14th at the NCAA West Regional...also heaved 43-0.25 in the shot put at the Sunset Meet #3.

Prep: A 2007 graduate of Mt. Albert Grammar School in Auckland, New Zealand…lettered in netball, basketball, track and field, and touch…NZ Secondary School discus champion from 2005-07…placed second in NZ Secondary Schools shot put championships from 2003-06 and third in 2007…named to NZ Athletics team in 2006 to World Youths Ostrava Czech Republic…named to NZ Athletics team in 2007 to World Juniors Bydgosz Poland.

Personal: Born in Auckland, New Zealand…has two younger siblings…parents are James and TeAroha Keenan of Auckland, New Zealand.
