Biography

2008-09 (Junior):  Went 1-10 overall and 1-4 in dual matches...four dual match losses came against players from ranked teams...lone singles win came in conference play with a straight set victory over Brandon Niesen of Utah State (Apr. 4)...finished 5-8 overall in doubles...went 4-3 in doubles during dual matches... teamed with Sascha Heinemann at the No. 3 court for all seven matches.

2007-08 (Sophomore): Finished with a 7-15 overall mark...posted a 7-12 record in dual matches, playing at the No. 3, 4, 5, and 6 positions...finished 0-2 at No. 3, 1-4 at No. 4, 5-2 at No. 5 and 1-4 at No. 6...went a perfect 3-0 in singles play at the Western Athletic Conference Championships, earning a clutch title-clinching victory against No. 49 Fresno State at the No. 5 court in the WAC Championship finals...won four of his final five singles matches to end the season...went 5-13 in doubles play...teamed primarily with Craig Faulk for a majority of matches at No. 3, where they went 3-9.

2006-07 (Freshman): Posted a 4-11 mark in his first campaign... appeared in nearly half of the team's dual matches, going 1-8...earned his sole victory in dominating fashion, defeating Fred Dewitte of Cal Poly, 6-1, 6-0 while playing at No. 5...went a combined 0-8 competing at the No. 4 and 6 positions...went 2-6 in doubles play, mostly competing at No. 2 with Derrick Lajola.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Kealakehe High School in Kona, Hawai`i...earned all-state honors as a senior, playing at No. 1 singles...advanced to the HHSAA singles final as the No. 2 seed...transferred from Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, Wash., where he attended for three years...named all-state three times and was a member of the 2003 WIAA 4A championship team as a freshman...played No. 1 singles all three years at Hudson's Bay.

Personal: Born in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i...has one sister...parents are Anne and Hector Mendoza of Waikoloa, Hawai`i.
