About:  Michael Barker enters his first year on the cheer team...born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada...graduate of Ross Sheppard HS in Edmonton, Alberta in 2008 where he earned three letters in football, three in cheerleading, and one in track and field...helped the Thunderbirds' football team to three-straight city championships, going undefeated in the 2005-06 and 06-07 season...earned several athletic awards while at Ross Sheppard HS, including the: most valuable player on the line on the 2005-06 football team; Craig Fey Memorial Award (2007-08), Vicky Wong Memorial Award; and the major athletic award with distinction...on the honor roll all three years in high school...member of the Edmonton Seahawks football club team for 10 years...chose UH because it has one of the best cheer and football programs in the United States...intends to major in education...has a younger brother and a younger sister...parents are Linda and Lorne Barker of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
