Biography

2010 (Senior): 
Started in all 66 games behind the plate as the catcher…had a strong senior season finishing with a career-high .282 batting average, five doubles, 11 home runs, 41 RBI, and a .497 slugging percentage…in WAC games had a batting average of .302, 19 hits, two doubles, five home runs, and 19 RBI...was 2-4 with two home runs in the April 3rd victory over New Mexico State...had a seven game hitting streak from the May 27th outing against San Jose State through the April 9th outing against Boise State…earned WAC All-Tournament honors.

2009 (Junior): Appeared in 43 games with 39 starts behind the plate...hit .198 (16-for-81) with seven runs, and two doubles...was second on the team with four sacrifice bunts...was .457 in success in advancing runners...named UH Scholar-Athlete for third straight year and earned her second academic all-WAC honor.

2008 (Sophomore): Appeared in 55 games, starting 53 at catcher...hit career highs with 32 hits, five doubles and three home runs while tying her freshman mark of 19 RBI...against Long Beach State went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored...hit .444 (4-for-9) during the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament with two RBI...against Colorado State (Mar. 19) in the the Bank of Hawaii Invitational, matched her career game-high by driving in three RBI on a home run that broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning en route to an 8-4 win over the Rams...in conference, hit .306 (11-for-36) with two doubles, a home run, seven RBI, and a slugging percentage of .389...earned UH Scholar-Athlete honors.

2007 (Freshman): Named the 2007 WAC Freshman of the Year and a member of the 2007 all-WAC second team... started 44 of 47 games at catcher...hit .265 overall (26-of-98) with 13 runs scored, three doubles, two home runs, and 19 RBI...got first career hit in Las Vegas, Nev. during the UNLV Desert Classic against Colorado State (Feb. 17)...hit first career home run came during a key series against then No. 25 and WAC rival, Fresno State...drove in three runs on three separate occasions...named a UH Scholar-Athlete.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Fla....a four-year letter winner in softball...helped lead the team to three straight district championships (2003-05)...was elected team captain her senior year and earned Tampa Tribune first team all-county honors, was named 2003 and 2005 Tampa Tribune honorable mention... was a 2006 5A all-state honorable mention infielder from the Florida Sports Writers Association...named the Most Valuable Offensive Player award or H.B. Plant HS...was named NFCA high school Scholar-Athlete four times...member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Born in Tampa, Fla....nickname is "Katie"...majoring in psychology...has one younger brother and one younger sister...daughter of Jerry and Gina Grimes of Tampa, Fla.
