HONOLULU — Bank of Hawai'i and the University of Hawai'i today announced a seven-year extension to their naming rights agreement for the iconic Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The extension brings the total life of the contract to 17 years, ensuring the Bankoh Arena name will remain on the facility through June 30, 2037.

Last August, the venue was officially renamed "Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center" to highlight the bank's deep community roots and its familiar, trusted identity among generations of island residents.
 
Bank of Hawai'i has been a longstanding corporate partner and supporter of UH Athletics for decades. In 2020, the bank stepped up with a major investment to help the athletics department navigate the financial challenges and disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic. The original naming rights agreement was a 10-year contract, and this year marks the seventh year of that foundational commitment.

The continued partnership supports the "Our Team, Hawai'i's Team Fund" within the UH Athletics Department. The extension will continue to provide programmatic, operational, administrative, and educational support to the athletics program. These resources directly benefit student-athletes by funding academic support, student well-being, nutrition, operations, travel, equipment, and professional development.
 
Originally constructed in 1994, Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center is celebrating its 32^nd anniversary this year. More than three decades after opening its doors, the historic building continues to be recognized as one of the premier athletic and entertainment venues in the state of Hawai'i.
