CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Hawai'i baseball team struggled to generate offense and contain No. 6 Oregon State, falling 8-1 in the second game of their weekend series on Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium.
Oregon State built an early advantage and steadily pulled away throughout the contest. The Beavers struck first with two runs in the second inning on a Jacob Galloway RBI double and a Tyler Inge RBI single. Oregon State added single runs in the fourth and seventh innings—the latter coming on a solo home run by Galloway—while plating a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth frames to put the game out of reach.
The Rainbow Warriors manufactured their only run of the afternoon in the top of the fourth inning.
Mana Lau Kong sparked the rally with a single to right field, subsequently stealing second base.

Gabe Wright showed patience at the plate, drawing an RBI walk to bring home Lau Kong and cut the deficit to 3-1. However, Hawai'i stranded the bases loaded to end the threat.
Hawai'i managed just five hits on the day against a stout Oregon State pitching staff.
Ben Zeigler-Namoa continued his recent hot streak, finishing 2-for-4 with a double.. Lau Kong was the only other 'Bow to record a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Hawai'i will look to salvage the series finale and avoid the sweep against the Beavers on Sunday at 10:05 a.m. HT.
