LOS ANGELES – The Hawai'i baseball team engaged in a back-and-forth slugfest with No. 1 UCLA, but ultimately fell to the top-ranked Bruins, 12-7, on Tuesday at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
The matchup marked the Rainbow Warriors' first contest against a No. 1 team since facing Arizona State in 2010.
After the 'Bows (20-16) scratched across an unearned run in the top of the first on a
Ben Zeigler-Namoa sacrifice fly, UCLA (37-3) answered with a massive five-run bottom half. Will Gasparino provided the biggest blow with a grand slam to left field after a Dean West leadoff homer, establishing a 5-1 advantage.

The Bruins added two runs in the bottom half of the frame and added one more in the eighth,m while the 'Bows were held scoreless over the final three innings by the UCLA bullpen.
Hawai'i out-hit UCLA, tallying 12 hits on the day, with
