HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (6-8, 3-4 Big West) swept UC Riverside, 7-0 on Monday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex

The Rainbow Wahine and Highlanders (4-17, 0-8 Big West) were originally scheduled to play the match last Thursday, April 9, but due to inclement weather, the match was moved to today. The two teams waited out more wet weather, as the match, originally slated to start at 10:00 a.m., finally began at 4:00 p.m. The match began with singles followed by doubles. Hawai'i won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Isabella Pampulov ignited the scoring with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sam Condevillam on the No. 6 court. UH's No. 2, Makeilah Nepomuceno followed with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win against Kei Kato. Sophie Rachor then defeated Camile Li, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 while Grete Gull clinched the match for UH with a 6-4, 7-5 win over the Highlanders' Ramey Yu on the No. 1 court. Allaire Berl outlasted Crystal Kim at No. 5 in a three-set battle, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 while No. 3 Hannah Galindo completed the singles shutout by defeating Susanna Su, 7-5, 6-2.

With the skies clear, the teams moved into doubles competition. UCR captured the No. 3 match with a 6-3 win. But the 'Bows bounced back as Galindo and Nepomuceno downed UCR's Kim and Condevillam and UH's No.1 pair of Gull and Rachor fought their way back to defeat Kato and Yu, 7-5 to complete the 7-0 sweep.
