BeachBows Face Conference Foes At Big West Challenge

The No. 13 Hawai'i beach volleyball team will take on their conference foes as they remain in California for the Big West Challenge at Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach, Calif. from March 20-22.

Over the course of the three-day tournament, the Rainbow Wahine (7-8) will take on all six Big West Conference opponents in a preview of April's Big West Championships in San Luis Obispo, Calif. The last time the seven teams met at the 2025 Big West Championships, the BeachBows came up one step short of a return trip to the conference finals, falling to Long Beach State 3-0 in the semifinals.

Through the first month of the season, Hawai'i has already faced eight ranked opponents, with seven of those opponents ranked within the top 10. A ninth top-10 matchup was canceled due to inclement weather. The BeachBows upset No. 1 UCLA in one of those ranked matchups, taking down the Bruins 3-2 on the opening day of the season at the OUTRIGGER Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic in February.

The Rainbow Wahine have two more ranked matchups on deck at the Big West Challenge this weekend. The BeachBows will take on host and No. 11 Long Beach State on Friday, before facing No. 3 Cal Poly on Saturday.

This will be UH's second consecutive California tournament after competing at the East Meets West Invitational at Manhattan Beach last weekend.
