Timothy Li earned Big West Player of the Week honors on Wednesday. Li went 2-0 in both singles and doubles in three road matches last week. It is his first career Big West Player of the Week award.
In UH's Big West opener at UC Riverside, Li defeated Ivaylo Simeonov in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, on the No. 2 singles court. The Rainbow Warriors notched their first sweep of the season, 4-0.
At Northern Arizona, Li, paired with
Kosuke Nakanishi to earn a 6-0 decision against Vincent Vohl and Takumi Katsuda in No. 1 doubles. Li's No. 2 singles match went unfinished. as Hawai'i notched its second-straight sweep, 4-0 over the Lumberjacks in Phoenix, Ariz..
In a battle at Grand Canyon, Li and Nakanishi took down Daniel Jankoski and Brice Patoux in in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-5) in No. 1 doubles. Li got the win in No. 2 singles in straight sets over Andreas Loizas 6-2, 6-3.
