DAVIS, Calif. – The Hawai'i women's soccer team extended its winning streak to five matches on Sunday, grinding out a 1-0 victory over UC Davis at the Aggie Soccer Field.
The hard-fought triumph completed a perfect two-match Northern California road trip following Thursday's 2-0 win at San José State, while securing Hawai'i's eighth shutout of the season and improving the 'Bows to 8-4-1 overall and 5-1-0 in Mountain West play. UH sits in second place alone in the conference standings with 15 points with four matches to play.
The two teams went scoreless in the first half, with the Rainbow Wahine out-shooting the Aggies 8-5. UH had a number of good looks with six shots on goal in the opening half, while the Aggies appeared to have struck first with a set-piece goal in the 12th minute before being overturned by a VAR review.
The decisive moment came at the 65:14 mark of the second period. Forward
Jordyn Eldredge Sagapolutele orchestrated a scoring opportunity off a UC Davis misplay in the UH attacking third, finding midfielder
Nalani Damacion, who calmly slotted home her third goal of the season to give Hawai'i a 1-0 lead.
UC Davis (5-9-2, 3-4-0 MW) pushed hard for an equalizer in the closing minutes, but junior goalkeeper
Kennedy Justin was spectacular between the posts. Justin turned aside all seven shots on goal she faced over 90 minutes of action to record her second consecutive solo shutout of the road trip and eighth clean sheet of the 2026 campaign.
Hawai'i finished the afternoon outshooting UC Davis 16-10 overall (10-7 on target), controlled 54 percent of the match possession, and withstood three second-half corner kicks from the Aggies. UH again continued its dominance of the second half, now out-scoring opponents 18-3 on the year in the final 45 minutes.
Justin's shutout was the 14th of her career, good for the second-most in program history and now just two behind Monk Berger's school record of 16. She also won her 22nd match in the net, putting her in third place alone in Hawai'i history. Damacion's game-winner is the 10th of her career, with 10 of her 13 career goals now being winners.
The Rainbow Wahine will return home to open a three-match conference homestand beginning Saturday vs. Grand Canyon at 3 p.m.
