The Rainbow Warriors (12-3, 4-1 Big West) are a half-game out of first in the Big West after a dramatic 67-66 home win over UC Irvine sealed by Hunter Erickson's buzzer-beater. Cal Poly (7-11, 3-3), meanwhile, is tied for fourth in the league standings. The Mustangs split last week, falling at CSUN (95-90) before beating UC Davis at home, 84-78. After its game at Cal Poly, UH will head south for a game at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 6:00 p.m. PT/4:00 p.m. HT.

• The Mustangs ended a nine-game losing streak to the 'Bows in San Luis Obispo last year with a 79-63 win. UH won the previous nine matchup by an average of 14.3 points.
• Sophomore wing Hamad Mousa leads the Big West and ranks 10th nationally in scoring at 21.8 ppg. In conference play he averages 26.8 ppg.
• The Mustangs rank 12th nationally in 3FGM (11.1) and 3FGA (32.3) per game. UH ranks 4th nationally in 3FG percentage defense (.272).
• Besides 3FG% defense, the 'Bows also rank in the top 10 in the NCAA in scoring defense (10th, 63.4 ppg) and overall FG% defense (8th, .383).
