Women's Volleyball Travels to CSU Bakersfield, CSUN

HONOLULU — After splitting a Big West homestand, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team travels to CSU Bakersfield and CSUN this week in the first road trip of the conference season.
 
The Rainbow Wahine (5-8) make their first stop in Bakersfield, Calif., to take on the Roadrunners on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time (3:30 p.m. Hawai'i Time). They'll continue on to Northridge to face the Matadors on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT (3 p.m. HT).

OPENING SERVE
  • The Rainbow Wahine opened the Big West schedule with a five-set win over UC Riverside on Sept. 26 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. UH then dropped a four-set decision to UC Davis to cap the opening weekend of conference play.
  • UH setter Adrianna Arquette posted the program's first triple-double since 2018 in the win over UC Riverside. Arquette set career highs with 11 kills and 15 digs to go along with 41 assists in the win.
  • UH libero Victoria Leyva also set a career best against UCR with 29 digs, the highest single-match total in the Big West this season. The sophomore has four matches of 20-plus digs this season.
  • UH ranks first in the Big West with 1.64 aces per set. Freshman Cha'lei Reid leads the conference and ranks 22nd nationally with 26 aces.
  • Reid leads the team and ranks seventh in the Big West with 3.43 kills per set. 
  • Middle blocker Bri Gunderson leads the Big West with 61 total blocks and ranks second in the conference with 1.20 per set. Miliana Sylvester ranks third in the conference with 53 total blocks and is sixth with 1.08 blocks per set.
