HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's team wrapped up the UH Ānuenue Invitational finishing the three-day tourney strong. Hawai'i swept their doubles matches and won four of five singles matches on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
In doubles, UH's Emma Forgac and Allaire Berl nearly shut out Hawai'i Pacific's Rosa Viller Moller and Lisa Lieberman, 8-1. The other two doubles matches both were back-and-forth battles that went down to the wire. UH's Makeilah Nepomuceno and Hannah Galindo edged out HPU's Evi Roobol and Tereza Noah, 9-7, and UH newcomers Sophie Rachor and Grete Gull combined forces to hold off the Sharks' Willow Dymkowski and Annika Hakovirta, 9-7.
 
Hawai'i's Berl led off the singles competition cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over the Sharks' Dymkowski. UH's newest Rainbow Wahine, Grete Gull followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win over HPU's Hakovirta. Fellow Rainbow rookie Rachor defeated HPU's Kaia Sperry in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. Hawai'i's Galindo fell to HPU's Viller Moller, 6-1, 6-3. Then, Nepomucenno held off the Sharks' Roobol in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3 and Forgac closed out the tourney. She battled back after dropping the second set and outlasted HPU's Noah in a third set super tie-breaker, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).
 
Next week all six Rainbow Wahine will compete in The Big West Individua Championships, hosted by UC San Diego at the Northview Tennis Courts from Thursday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 5.
