UH Sailors Launch Fall Season on the Road

HONOLULU—The University of Hawaiʻi coed and women's sailing teams announced their fall schedule which begins with the PCCSC Singlehanded Championships, Sept. 20-21, in Redwood City, Calif. It marks the second straight year UH has started its fall slate in California.

Hawai'i will look to build on last year's singlehanded success, when Rainbow Wahine Martha Schuessler became the first UH sailor to win the event since Tinja Anderson-Mitterling nearly two decades ago. The coed team placed third, seventh and eighth in 2024 and looks to improve this fall.

Schuessler returns to the field this weekend alongside teammates Stella Taherian and Gabriella Delgado, while Erik Anderson and Will Bagley will represent the men's side.

From there, the UH coed sailors will spend much of their season along the California coast, including the PCCSC Match Race Championship in San Diego and the PCCSC Fall Championship in Santa Barbara.

Meanwhile, the Rainbow Wahine will log miles across the country this fall. After opening in California, the women's team will travel to New London, Conn., for the Stu Nelson Intersectional before wrapping up the season back on the West Coast at the PCCSC Fall Championship.
