DAVIS, CALIF. – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (3-12, 0-2 Big West) fell in heartbreaking fashion to Nevada, 4-3 on Saturday at the Golden State Invitational hosted by Sacramento State. This match marked the end of the five-match road trip for the Rainbow Warriors.

The 'Bows came out strong, winning the doubles point to start the match. Hawai'i won on the No. 2 and 3 courts. On the No. 2 court, UH's Karl Collins and Diego Dalisay defeated UNR's duo of Axel Huysmans and Gregoire Valente, 6-3. On the No. 3 court, UH's Andy Hernandez and Quinn Snyder secured the point by defeating the Wolf Pack's Lucas Hammond and Remy Tregoures, 6-3.

Nevada won the first two singles matches on the No. 4 and 5 courts to leapfrog UH for a 2-1 lead. But UH's No. 2 Snyder continued his winning ways in singles play, improving to 8-0 in his senior campaign. Snyder defeated UNR's Hammond in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Hawai'i's No. 6 Sohta Urano battled hard but eventually fell to Wolf Pack;s Valente, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). Hawai'i's Collins picked up his sixth win of the season with a come-from-behind victory over Nevadas' Hermassi, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to knot the match score at 3-3. The No. 1 match between UH's 86th-ranked Visaya and UNR's Kadiri went to three sets, but Kadiri came out on top to clinch the Wolf Pack win, 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-2.

The Rainbow Warriors return home after a long road trip but will head back out to Moraga, Calif. to take on Saint Mary's (CA) on Mar. 20 at 11:00 A.M. HT.
