FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — The University of Hawai'i men's and women's dive teams will compete at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships from Monday to Wednesday (March 10-12) at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash.

The NCAA Zone E Championships will begin Monday with the 3-meter event, featuring 53 divers in the preliminary round. The platform competition will take place on Tuesday, with 36 divers competing in the prelims. Wednesday's schedule includes the 1-meter event, once again with 53 divers vying for a spot in the finals. Preliminary rounds will start each day at 11:30 a.m. Mountain Standard time, followed by finals at 2:45 p.m. MST.

The top finishers will compete in the NCAA Championships from March 26-29 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash.

The Rainbow Warrior dive team will be represented by Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo and Brandon Shepherd. Macie Wheeler, Ruby Pickron and Avery Coates will compete for the Rainbow Wahine dive team.

Tamayo will compete in all three events (1-meter, 3-meter and platform), while Shepherd will participate in both springboard events, the 1-meter and 3-meter.

On the women's side, Wheeler will also compete in all three events, while Coates and Pickron are set to take part in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions.

Tamayo, a freshman from Medellin, Colombia, was voted Big West Men's Diver and Freshman Diver of the Year after earning individual titles in the 1-meter and platform dive at the Big West Championships.

Wheeler, a freshman from Adelaide, Australia, was voted Big West Women's Diver and Freshman Diver of the Year. Wheeler is the first Rainbow Wahine to win the conference championships in all three diving events in a single season since 2016.

UH swept the diving events at this year's Big West Championships claiming gold in all six diving competitions.
