HONOLULU – The third-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team swept No. 19 Penn State on the second day of the 29
th OUTRIGGER Invitational Friday at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Set scores were 25-13, 25-23, 25-12.
 
The Rainbow Warriors (19-1) extended their win streak to 10 with their second straight sweep in the tournament. Hawai'i will face USC in Saturday's championship match after the Trojans defeated Ball State in the earlier match. Both UH and USC are undefeated in the tournament.
 
Adrien Roure led Hawai'i with a match-high 15 kills, hitting for a season-best .636 clip. The Lyon, France native also added seven digs and four blocks. 
Louis Sakanoko totaled nine kills, on .412 hitting with three digs and three blocks while freshman 
Kainoa Wade got the start at opposite and finished with five kills and a team-high eight digs.
 
As a team, UH hit .397 for the match with six aces and 10 blocks. 
Tread Rosenthal had three of the aces along with 29 assists, four blocks and four kills.
 
The Nittany Lions (5-12) were led by Will Kuhns, who posted 13 kills on .450 hitting.
 
In the opening set, UH scored seven straight for a quick 7-1 lead and never looked back. 
Kurt Nusterer served consecutive aces during a five-point run that put UH ahead 13-4. UH hit .350 in the set with four aces.
 
Hawai'i jumped out to a lead in Set 2 before the Lions took a 13-12 lead after the Warriors committed four straight errors. The teams traded side-outs for much of the set. The Lions led 23-21 before the Warriors scored the final four points with 
Justin Todd at the service line to steal the set.
 
In Set 3, UH scored 10 straight on Todd's service turn for an 18-7 lead.
  
In the first match of the day, USC defeated Ball State, 25-22, 25-17, 25-19. Dillon Klein had a match-high 16 kills to lead the Trojans.
 
The tournament concludes on Saturday with Ball State and Penn State at 4:00 p.m., followed by Hawai'i and USC at 7:00 p.m.
