Women's Tennis Embarks on Three-Match Roadtrip

DAVIS, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (5-4, 3-0 Big West) takes off for a three-match roadtrip beginning at UC Davis (7-9, 1-3 BW) on Saturday, March 15 at 8:00 a.m. HT. From there, the Rainbow Wahine will head south to take on Cal State Fullerton (5-4, 1-0 BW) on Tuesday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. HT. UH will conclude its roadtrip at Long Beach State (8-2, 2-1 BW) on Thursday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. HT.

 HAWAI'I RAINBOW WAHINE (5-4, 3-0 Big West)University of Hawaii Logo• The Rainbow Wahine return to action after a couple of weeks off after a single home match win over UC San Diego, 5-2 on March 1.
• Hawai'i sits atop the Big West standings with a 3-0 conference record. All six remaining dual matches are all against Big West opponents.
• In singles dual matches, senior Nikola Homolkova leads UH with a 6-2 record and is on a five-match win streak with three wins coming at No. 2 and two wins on the No. 3 court.
• Right behind Homolkova are Joelle Lanz and Peppi Ramstedt who both have five wins apiece. The versatile Lanz has played matches at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 and enters this week with a 5-3 singles record.  Lanz has won three of her last four matches.
• Ramstedt started the season red hot, winning her first five matches, but has lost her last four matches to enter this week at 5-4. She has played the last six matches at the top of the order at No. 1.
• In doubles, UH's No. 3 duo of Hannah Galindo and Makeilah Nepomuceno leads the team with a 5-2 record, while UH's No. 1 pair of Sheena Masuda and Ramstedt enter the week at 5-3.

UC DAVIS AGGIES (7-9, 1-3 Big West)University of California Davis Logo• SERIES RECORD: UH leads, 13-5. Last year, UH edged out the Aggies, 4-3 in Honolulu.
• The Aggies have won four of their last six matches and enter this week on a two-match win streak. 
• The match vs. Hawai'i will end an eight-match homestand for the Aggies.
• Three Aggies have recorded seven singles wins already, Maya Youssef is 7-6 primarily playing at No. 3; Polina Marakhtanova is 7-7 primarily at No. 4 and Mika ikemori is 7-8 at No. 1.
• In doubles, the UCD pair of Claire Galerkin and Kaia Wolfe lead the Aggies with a 7-4 record mostly on the NO. 3 court where they are 6-1.

CAL STATE FULLERTON TITANS (5-4, 1-0 Big West)Cal State Fullerton• SERIES RECORD: UH leads, 27-10. Last year the titans defeated UH 4-2 in the BW Championships. UH defeated CSUF in teh regular season 4-3 in Honolulu.
• The Titans have won four of their last five matches, including its most recent win which was a 4-0 sweep over Colorado State.
• The Titans' Milena Gevorgyan leads the team with a 6-2 dual match record playing on the No. 4, 5 and 6 courts.
• In doubles, Kaytlin Taylor and Seha Yu lead the Titans with a 5-3 record on the No. 3 court.

LONG BEACH STATE BEACH (8-2, 2-1 Big West)Long Beach State• SERIES RECORD: The Beach leads 19-15. Last year, UH edged out The Beach 4-3 in Honolulu.
• The Beach is currently on a seven-match win streak--most recently defeating Cal Poly at home 5-2 last Saturday.
• The Beach's Diana De Simone enters theh week with an impressive 18-5 overall record. In dual matches, she is 5-2 and in conference play she is 2-0. She has played both at No. 1 and No. 2.
• In dual match singles action, LBSU's Thea Jagare leads her team with a 6-2 record. Both Cecillia Costa and Daria Malaescu both start the week with 5-3 records.
• Leading The Beach in doubles is the pair of Ceillia Costa and Johanna Hiemair who have an 8-3 overall record and a 6-2 reocrd in dual matches all on the No. 1 court.
