HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team closed out a two-match spring exhibition series against Arizona State with a straight-set loss, Tuesday at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Set scores were 25-22, 25-15, 25-13.
 
The Rainbow Wahine dropped both matches to the Sun Devils, who finished last season 30-3 and were champions of the Big 12. Hawai'i will conclude its spring exhibition season with a pair of matches against Wisconsin, Tuesday, March 25 at SimpliFi Arena and Wednesday, March 26 at Kaua'i High School in Līhu'e, Kaua'i.
 
UH was led by freshman Cha'lei Reid, who tallied eight kills, while Tali Hakas added five kills and four digs. Miliana Sylvester finished with three kills and four blocks. UH hit .036 as a team.
 
Jillian Neal led the Sun Devils with a match-high 12 kills, hitting .409. Zoey Burgess added eight kills and nine blocks and Bailey Miller posted seven kills, three aces, nine digs, and five blocks. As a team, ASU hit .321 for the match and finished with seven aces and 10 blocks.

In Set 1, ASU used a 9-1 run, including six straight, to erase a four-point deficit and take a 13-9 lead. UH got within one at 20-19 after a 5-1 run but the Devils answered with a 4-1 run to get to set point at 24-20 and closed it out on a kill by Miller.
 
ASU jumped out to a 10-3 lead in Set 2 with a 9-1 run. The Devils extended their lead to double digits at 20-10 after scoring four straight.
 
The Sun Devils scored the first eight points of Set 3 and rolled to a 25-13 win to complete the sweep.
