CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Josh Hayashida carded rounds of 2-over 74 and 1-under 71 on the first day of the R.E. Lamkin Invitational Monday at the San Diego Country Club.
 
The Mililani, O'ahu native is tied for 52^nd place at 1-over 145 and followed closely by teammate James Whitworth, who is 2-over 146 and tied for 57^th after rounds of 74 and 72.
 
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors sit in 16^th place at 11-over 587. Co-host San Diego State leads the field at 23-under 553 while co-host San Diego is one shot back at 554. SDSU's Justin Hastings has a one-shot lead over a group of three golfers at 10-under 134.
 
Also competing for the Warriors are Anson Cabello (149; t-68^th), Dane Watanabe (149; t-68^th), and Tyler Ogawa (151; t-78^th).
 
The third and final round is scheduled for Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start.
