KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – University of Hawai'i junior
Josh Hayashida tied the program record with a 9-under 63 in the second round of the Amer Ari Intercollegiate, Friday at Mauna Lani Resort Golf Course.
The Mililani, O'ahu native recorded seven birdies and an eagle on his round and moved up into a tie for 62
nd place at 2-under 142. Hayashida tied the record held by Scotty Yamashita and Bret Parker. Yamashita shot 9-under 62 at the 2014 Alister MacKenzie Invitational while Parker carded 9-under 63 at the 1998 John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
As a team, Hawai'i moved up to a tie for 14
th place at 8-under 568. Oklahoma State leads the field at 533 followed by North Carolina (535), Oregon (540), Texas (541), and Arizona State (545).
UNC's Hampton Roberts has the individual lead at 16-under 128 after a second round 11-under 61. Oregon's Eric Doyle is two strokes back at 14-under 130.
Tyler Ogawa continues to pace the Rainbow Warriors at 5-under 139 after a second round 1-under 71 and is tied for 42
nd place. Also competing for UH are

Three Warriors are competing as individuals led by
James Whitworth, who shot 2-under 70 and is 6-under 138 for the tournament and tied for 33

The third round is scheduled for Saturday with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
