HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (4-4, 2-0 Big West) returns home to host a single conference match against UC San Diego (4-5, 2-1 BW). The match will be played on Saturday, Mar. 1 at 11:00 a.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.

HAWAI'I RAINBOW WAHINE (4-4, 2-0 Big West)
• The Rainbow Wahine went 1-2 last week on their first mainland roadtrip of 2025. Hawai'i opened their trip with a 6-1 win at UC Riverside to improve to 2-0 in Big West play. But the 'Bows fell at No. 29 San Diego, 4-1 and then ended their SoCal swing with a 4-2 loss at San Diego State.
• Nikola Homolkova led UH last week going 2-0 at No. 3 singles. She defeated UCR's Niki Shabazi in a three set battle, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and then seized UH's lone win vs. the Aztecs defeating Gloria Alogo in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6. With doubles partner Ana Vilcek, the UH No. 2 duo went 2-1 notching wins at UC Riverside and at San Diego State. Homolkova leads UH in dual match play with a 5-2 record. She has gone 4-1 playing at No. 2 and 1-1 on the No. 3 court. Homolkova has won her last four-straight decisions.
• Overall in dual matches, senior Peppi Ramstedt has also recorded five wins overall. She is 5-3 playing matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3.
• Senior Ana Vilcek made her way back on the singles court in San Diego. She defeated USD's Kristina Nordikyan in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 but fell at SDSU's Jo-Yee Chan, 2-6, 4-6.

Team notes: UC San Diego opened their conference season with wins over Long Beach State and UC Davis, both by the score of 4-3. UCSD had won three-streaight with a 4-3 win vs Utah, but the Tritoons most recently fell at Cal State Fullerton last Sunday, 7-0.
• The Tritons are led by 48th-ranked Julia Haynes who had won six-straight matches before falling at Cal State Fullerton. She enters this week with a 6-2 singles record all on the No. 1 court.
• Katelyn Vu is second on the team with a 5-1 record all on the No. 6 court.
