HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team closes the regular season with a two-match homestand starting with a matchup with UC San Diego on Friday, Nov. 21 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Wahine then face Long Beach State on Saturday, Nov. 22 in their Senior Night match.
The Rainbow Wahine enter the final weekend of the regular season tied with UC Irvine for sixth place in the Big West race as they vie for a berth in the six-team The Hawaiian Islands presents the 2025 Outrigger Big West Women's Volleyball Championship.
This week's homestand will also mark the final home matches for three UH seniors —
Bri Gunderson,
Tyla Reese Mane and
Morghn Monahan. The trio will be honored following Saturday's match, which has been designated as a "White Out."

OPENING SERVE
- The Rainbow Wahine returned home after dropping both ends of their final regular-season road trip at UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.
- UH middle blocker Bri Gunderson has earned two Big West Defensive Player of the Week awards this season, Adrianna Arquette picked up two Setter of the Week awards, and Cha'lei Reid has two Freshman of the Week honors and an Offensive Player of the Week award.
- Gunderson is hitting .352 with 2.78 kills per set and averaging 1.05 blocks per set over the last 12 matches since moving back to the middle following a midseason stint at opposite. Gunderson ranks fourth in the Big West with 1.11 blocks per set overall.
- Arquette has nine double-doubles this season, including two triple-doubles. She ranks fourth in the Big West with 8.53 assists per set.
- Reid leads the team with 17 double-digit kill performances this season. She averages a team-high 3.30 kills per set and is on pace to become the fourth freshman since 1981 to lead the 'Bows in the category.
- Reid also leads the conference with 41 aces and 0.45 per set. Her current total is the program's highest since Norene Iosia had 48 aces in 2019.
- As a team, the 'Bows rank first in the Big West with 158 total aces and 1.63 per set.
- Sophomore libero Victoria Leyva has posted double-figure digs in each of the last 10 matches and has 21 such performances this season. She's posted 20-plus digs in seven matches and her season average of 4.18 digs per set is on pace to rank third in program history.
- UH is 504-82 all-time in Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center since the facility opened in 1994.
CELEBRATING THE SENIORSBri Gunderson,
Tyla Reese Mane and
Morghn Monahan traveled varied paths to converge in Mānoa this season to comprise the 2025 Rainbow Wahine senior class. The trio wll be honored in UH's annual Senior Night ceremony following Saturday's match against Long Beach State.
- Gunderson, who has family on Maui, was recruited by UH in high school but began her college career at BYU. She spent two years at Eastern Washington, where she earned a place among the nation's most prolific blockers, before coming to UH for her senior season. She enters the final week of the regular season leading the 'Bows and ranked fourth in the Big West with 101 blocks.
- Mane was a multi-sport athlete at 'Aiea High School and went on to Casper College in Wyoming. She joined the UH program in 2023 and redshirted her first year and played sparingly in 2024. This season she has established a starting role at outside hitter and averages 1.90 kills per set.
- Originally from Oregon, the 6-foot-3 Monahan spent two seasons at Hawai'i Pacific University before transferring to UH. She moved from middle blocker to opposite and earned six starts this season.

- Current UH setter/opposite Audrey Hollis played for UCSD last season and was named to the Big West All-Freshman team.
- UCSD enters the weekend at 6-23 overall and 4-13 in Big West play. The Tritons have lost their last four matches, including a sweep against Long Beach State on Tuesday in La Jolla, Calif.

- The Rainbow Wahine and Beach meet for the 67th time in a series that dates back to 1977.
- UH had won four consecutive meetings with Long Beach State before the Beach swept the 'Bows in this season's first meeting on Oct. 17 at the Walter Pyramid.
- The 'Bows are 26-6 in home matches against the Beach have won nine straight in Mānoa since LBSU's five-set win on Nov. 7, 2014.
- LBSU last swept a season series with UH in 2014. The 'Bows are 17-3 in the overall series since that season.
- UH and Long Beach State played to a 1-1 tie on Nov. 4, 1978. The match played in Los Angeles accounts for the lone tie in program history.
- Long Beach State improved to 20-8 overall and 13-4 in Big West play with a sweep of UCSD on Tuesday. The Beach enters the weekend in third place in the conference standings.
- The Beach entered the week second in the Big West in kills per set (13.58) and third in blocks per set (2.53)
- Freshman Logan King leads LBSU and ranks third in the Big West with 3.58 kills per set. She is also third in the conference with 4.17 points per set.
- Nieko Thomas leads the Big West with 111 total blocks and ranks third with 1.12 blocks per set.
- Long Beach State will host the The Hawaiian Islands presents the 2025 Outrigger Big West Women's Volleyball Championship next week at the Walter Pyramid.
