Women's Volleyball Returns Home to Face Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara

HONOLULU — Coming off a split on the road, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team returns to Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center for a key homestand in the Big West race.
 
The Rainbow Wahine take on Cal Poly on Friday in a rematch of last year's Big West Championship final. They'll then close the weekend on Sunday with a meeting with UC Santa Barbara.
 
The Rainbow Wahine enter the week at 6-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play after earning a win at CSU Bakersfield and falling at CSUN in their first road trip of the Big West season.

  • The Rainbow Wahine entered the week tied for fourth in the Big West standings after two weeks of conference play.
  • UH setter Adrianna Arquette has two triple-doubles in the last two weeks. The sophomore set career highs with 14 kills and 17 digs to go along with 28 assists in a win at CSU Bakersfield on Oct. 3. She recorded the program's first triple-double since 2018 on Sept. 26 against UC Riverside.
  • Sophomore middle blocker Miliana Sylvester is hitting .470 since the start of Big West play with 43 kills and just four errors in 83 attempts in four conference matches.
  • Sophomore middle blocker Maddie Way had a breakout weekend with 20 kills on .500 hitting in last week's road trip. She put away a career-high 13 kills on 17 error-free attempts at CSU Bakersfield.
  • UH libero Victoria Leyva has five matches of 20-plus digs this season and ranks fifth in the Big West with 4.07 digs per set.
  • UH ranks first in the Big West with 1.67 aces per set. Freshman Cha'lei Reid leads the conference and ranks 35th nationally with 0.50 aces per set.
  • Reid leads the team and ranks seventh in the Big West with 3.35 kills per set. 
  • Middle blocker/opposite Bri Gunderson ranks second in the Big West with 1.16 blocks per set. Miliana Sylvester ranks eighth with 1.05 per set.
  • This week's homestand will include the last three Big West Coach of the Year winners — UH's Robyn Ah Mow (2022), UCSB's Matt Jones (2023) and Cal Poly's Caroline Walters (2024).
