Women's Volleyball Travels to UC Davis, UC Riverside

HONOLULU — Following a brief stay at home, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team heads back to California for a two-game Big West road trip starting with a matchup with conference leader UC Davis on Thursday, Oct. 30. The Rainbow Wahine then travel south to face UC Riverside on Saturday, Nov. 1.
 
The 'Bows are in the midst of a run of five road games in six matches and are coming off a sweep of Cal State Fullerton in their lone home game of that span last Saturday at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

OPENING SERVE
  • The Rainbow Wahine entered the week tied with UC Irvine for sixth in the Big West standings.
  • Outside hitter Cha'lei Reid led UH with 14 kills in Saturday's win over Cal State Fullerton and continues to pace the 'Bows overall with 3.37 kills per set. The freshman ranks fourth in the Big West with 4.20 points per set.
  • Reid leads the conference with 34 aces and 0.48 per set. Her current total is the program's highest since Brooke Van Sickle had 38 in 2021.
  • As a team, the 'Bows rank first in the Big West with 125 total aces and 1.64 per set.
  • Sophomore libero Victoria Leyva averaged 5.17 per set over the last two matches. She has posted double-figure digs in each of the last four matches and has 15 such performances this season. She's posted 20-plus digs in seven matches this season and ranks fifth in the conference with 4.14 digs per set.
  • UH setter Adrianna Arquette is one of two players in the Big West with two triple-doubles this season. The sophomore ranks fifth in the Big West with 8.21 assists per set.
  • Middle blocker Bri Gunderson leads the team and ranks sixth in the Big West with 1.10 blocks per set.
  • Miliana Sylvester remained sixth in the Big West in hitting percentage at .295. 
  • UH senior Tyla Reese Mane has started the last eight matches and is averaging 2.36 kills per set in Big West play.
  • Senior Morghn Monahan has started the last four matches and hit .357 in last week's match against UC Irvine.
  • Freshman Jaci Miyasaki provided pivotal back-row defense and served a season-high three aces against Cal State Fullerton.

  • UH won the first 33 meetings before UCR earned a five-set win last season in Riverside, Calif.
  • UH is 11-1 in road matches against the Highlanders.
  • UH won this season's first meeting in five sets (23-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-17, 15-13). Cha'lei Reid led four UH players in double figures with 15 kills and Adrianna Arquette posted her first triple-double. Sophia Ewalefo had 16 kills to lead UCR.
  • UCR entered the week at 7-13 overall and 3-7 in Big West play, a game behind UH in the standings.
