Women's Volleyball Closes Road Trip at UC Irvine

IRVINE, Calif — The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball wraps up its three-match Big West road trip by taking on UC Irvine on Tuesday at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif. First serve is set for 6 p.m. Pacific Time (3 p.m. Hawai'i Time).
 
The Rainbow Wahine start the fifth week of conference play against the Anteaters after splitting the first two matches of their stay in Southern California. They fell to Long Beach State on Friday then bounced back by sweeping UC San Diego on Saturday in La Jolla.
 
After facing UC Irvine, the 'Bows return home to face Cal State Fullerton on Saturday to complete the first half of conference play.

  • The Rainbow Wahine enter the week tied with UC Riverside for sixth place in the Big West standings. UC Irvine is among three teams tied for eighth at 2-6 in Big West play.
  • The 'Bows are coming off their most efficient performance of the season in the win at UC San Diego. They hit .385 against the Tritons, the program's highest attack percentage since Oct. 21, 2023.
  • Freshman Cha'lei Reid hit a season-high.438 with 18 kills in 32 attempts against UCSD. Reid leads the team and ranks fifth in the Big West with 3.42 kills per set.
  • Sophomore libero Victoria Leyva averaged 5.67 digs per set over the first two matches of the road trip. She has posted 20-plus digs in six matches this season and ranks fifth in the conference with 4.06 per set. She also had four aces over the weekend.
  • UH setter Adrianna Arquette is one of two players in the Big West with two triple-doubles this season. The sophomore averaged 9.50 assists per set at LBSU and UCSD last weekend.
  • The 'Bows served up 10 aces over the weekend and rank first in the Big West with 115 total aces and 1.64 per set. Reid leads the conference with 31 aces and 0.48 per set.
  • Middle blocker Bri Gunderson leads the team and ranks fifth in the Big West with 1.13 blocks per set. The senior hit .419 (16 kills, three errors, 31 attempts) over the first two matches of the road trip.
  • Miliana Sylvester has risen to sixth in the Big West in hitting percentage at .295. The sophomore hit .394 (15 kills, two errors, 33 attempts) through two matches on the trip.
  • UH senior Tyla Reese Mane is averaging 2.32 kills per set in Big West matches.
