Kansei Matsuzawa and running back
Landon Sims were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The award is the first for both Matsuzawa and Sims.
In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and must have either competed in 90 percent of the team's contests or started in at least 66 percent of the games.
This past season, Matsuzawa converted 12-of-16 field goal attempts with a long of 41 and made all 32 of his PAT attempts. Sims started eight games at running back and led the team with 351 yards rushing on 71 attempts (4.9 avg.). He also scored one touchdown and caught 13 passes for 153 yards.
