HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team concludes a six-game homestand when it hosts Cal Poly in a Big West matchup on Saturday, Jan. 4. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center. 

The Rainbow Warriors (8-5) are coming off a close 64-61 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night to drop to 0-2 in conference. The Mustangs (6-9, 0-3) are also seeking their first conference win of the year after falling at home on Thursday to UC Irvine, 98-89, in overtime.

GAME STORY LINES

• UH has defeated the Mustangs eight straight times and has won 10 straight in Honolulu.
• The 'Bows are coming off a 64-61 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night, while the Mustangs fell to UC Irvine, 98-89, in overtime.
• Both teams will be seeking their first conference win. UH has started 0-2; Cal Poly is 0-3. 
• UH is off to an 0-2 Big West start for just the third time in 13 years in the Big West and for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
• Cal Poly plays at the fastest tempo in the nation, while UH plays at a tempo ranked 298th.
