BERKELEY, Calif. — The University of Hawai'i men's and women's dive teams will compete in the three-day Cal Invitational from Thursday to Saturday (Jan. 16-18) at the Legends Aquatic Center in Berkeley, Calif.
The Cal Invitational features a nine team pool that includes UH, UCLA, USC, Denver, Fresno State, BYU, Stanford, Utah and the host California Golden Bears.

Last weekend during the Harvard & Arkansas tri-meet, Macie Wheeler led the Rainbow Wahine with top five performances in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. The freshman placed third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 284.70 and finished fourth in the 3-meter dive posting a mark of 306.00. Ruby Pickron also cracked the top five with her fifth place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 263.65.
Freshmen Lovisa Gustavsson and Avery Coates both placed in the top 10 in the 3-meter dive. Gustavsson finished in eighth with a mark of 290.45, followed by Coates in ninth who posted a score of 285.50.
Rainbow Warriors Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo and Brandon Shepherd competed in exhibition events against each other during the tri-meet. Tamayo won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with scores of 297.20 and 355.55 respectively.
The Cal Invitational will be the first competition for the Rainbow Warriors dive team since the SMU Invitational in late November.
