Men's Basketball Plays Saturday Matinee At Cal State Fullerton

HONOLULU  The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team aims for a two-game Big West road sweep when it plays at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, Jan. 11. Tipoff is 1:00 p.m.PT/11:00 a.m. HT at Titan Gym. 

The Rainbow Warriors (10-5, 2-2 Big West) won their first road game in three tries this season when it defeated UC Riverside, 83-76, on Thursday. It gave UH back-to-back Big West wins after getting off to an 0-2 start. The Titans (5-12, 0-5) are coming off a 63-53 road loss at UC Davis and are seeking their first conference win of the season.

GAME STORY LINES
  • UH ended a five-game series skid with a 76-68 win at Fullerton last year and are 7-3 all-time at Titan Gym.    
  • A UH win would give the 'Bows their third straight win and its longest win streak since winning its first four games of the season.
  • It would also give UH it first Big West road sweep since winning at Long Beach State and CSU Bakersfield in 2023,
  • Senior post player Tanner Christensen scored a team-high 18 points in UH's win at UC Riverside and is shooting a league-best 70% in Big West games.
  • Cal State Fullerton leads the Big West in bench points at 29.2 per game, while Hawaii ranks second at 28.8.
  • The Titans are shooting just 19% on threes in the Big West. UH has limited its last three big West opponents to just 29% shooting from beyond the arc.
  • Following its game at Fullerton, the 'Bows will return home for a pair of games vs. CSUN (Jan. 16) and CSU Bakersfield (Jan. 18).
