HONOLULU – More than a dozen former University of Hawai'i men's volleyball players will play professional volleyball overseas this season including four recent Rainbow Warriors who will make their pro debuts – Spyros Chakas, Kevin Kauling, Alaka'i Todd, and Guilherme Voss.
 
Chakas will play for his hometown Aons Milon Volleyball in Nea Smyrni, Greece; Kauling for Chenois Volley in Chene Boug, Switzerland; Todd for Unicaja Costa de Almeria VB in Almeria Spain; and Voss for Tours Volleyball in Tours, France. In addition, Brett Sheward, who competed for UH from 2019-23 but finished his career at UC Irvine, will begin his pro career with Savo Volley in Finland.
 
Fresh off a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, Taylor Averill begins his eighth professional season and will play for Vero Volley Monza in Italy after a season in Poland. Joe Worsley enters his sixth pro season and second with Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 in France, who he helped guide to the semifinals of the French Marmara Spike League and earned French League's Setter of the Year award. Incidentally, Voss' Tours Volleyball club captured the Spike League title last season.
 
Chakas joins two other former UH teammates in the Greece and the Greek League. Patrick Gasman moves from Chaumont Volley to Greek League champion Panathinaikos A.C., while Dimitrios Mouchlias, who played in Germany last season, joined AC PAOK.
 
Rado Parapunov begins his first season with Helios Grizzlys in Giesen, Germany while Gage Worsley enters his third season with SVG Lüneburg in Germany. Cole Hogland returns to the Sakai Blazers in Japan for his second season. while Jakob Thelle moved from Italy to France with the Le Plessis-Robinson Volleyball.
