ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team completed its season-opening tournament in 15
th place following the final round of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Tuesday at the UNM Championship Course.
The Rainbow Wahine carded a final round 317 for a 939 total. Big West rival Long Beach State captured the team title at 1-under 863 while Pepperdine's Lauren Gomez took medalist honors at 11-under 205.
UH's top finisher was
Emiko Sverduk, who posted a final round 79 for a 231 total and tie for 60
th place.
Maline Kraus and Laurent Pierce tied for 70
th at 235.
Syamala Varnika Achanta and
Kellie Yamane each shot 80 on Tuesday to finish 76
th and a tie for 79
th at 238 and 241, respectively.
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, Oct. 4-6 in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
