SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. – The Hawai'i women's track and field team put up four points in the heptathlon at the Big West Multis Championship to open the conference title meet.
Sammie Gordon placed sixth with 4,987 points and put up three points for the Rainbow Wahine while
Anna Marx had a career weekend and finished eighth with 4,786 points to add a point to the UH total.
Marx moved into a tie for sixth all-time at UH in the heptathlon behind PRs in five of the seven events. After posting a trio of personal bests on Friday, the senior threw a career-best 27.75m (91-0) in the javelin before finishing off the meet with by finishing fourth in the 800m with a personal best of 2:21.97 to move into scoring position.
Gordon placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:19.58 to make it a 1-2-4 Hawai'i finish in the final event as
Catherine Touchette ran a 2:18.47 to place first.
The full squad will join the four heptathletes in San Luis Obispo for the Big West Championships starting Friday.
