BeachBows Host Senior Weekend Matches At Ching Courts

HONOLULU – The No. 12 University of Hawai'i beach volleyball team will play its final regular-season home matches of 2024 when it hosts Chaminade, Portland and No. 19 Grand Canyon April 13-14 at the Clarence T.C Ching Complex. The matches are open to fans with free admission.
 
UH's final match of the weekend on Sunday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. versus GCU will be telecast live on Spectrum Sports. Following that match, Rainbow Wahine players Kaylee Glagau, Sabrina Hardisty, Anna Maidment, Pani Napoleon, Jaime Santer and Riley Wagoner will be honored as part of Senior Night festivities.
 
UH (16-11) is back home for the first time in more than a month after playing its last 16 dual matches on the mainland. The BeachBows went 10-6 during the trip, while playing eight ranked teams during that stretch. Among UH's wins were upsets over top-10 squads LSU and Long Beach State.

Following the Senior Weekend, the BeachBows will head back on the road for the Big West Championship, April 25-26 in Long Beach.

BeachBow Seniors: Six Rainbow Wahine will be making their final regular-season home appearances this weekend.

Kaylee Glagau (Mississauga, Canada) is a two-time All-American and two-time Big West Pair of the Year with Brooke Van Sickle…a three-time all-Big West first-team selection…among the all-time leaders in dual wins (95) at UH and is on the verge of becoming just the third player in program history with 100 wins…has earned multiple academic citations, including all-district honors…will graduate with a degree in social work. 

Sabrina Hardisty (San Diego, Calif.) is in her fifth year in the program having first stepped on campus in the fall of 2019…went in 3-1 as a freshman at the No. 4 flight and has played a the No. 6 in the three years since…earned her undergraduate degree in molecular biosciences and biotechnology in just three years…will head to medical school after finishing up her master's in public health.

Anna Maidment (Winnipeg, Canada) is in her fifth season with the BeachBows…has played in 108 career matches and ranks 14th all-time at UH with 70 wins…she earned first team all-conference honors in 2022 and is having another banner year in 2024 sporting the team's best win percentage with partner Sydney Miller….gained her undergraduate degree in natural resources and environmental management last spring and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in ocean policy.

Pani Napoleon (Bonita, Calif.) is the most seasoned player on the team, finishing her seventh year of collegiate volleyball.…spent her first four years at UH where she was the 2019 Big West Freshman of the Year and a two-time all-Big West player…spent two seasons at UCLA as a grad transfer, before returning to UH for one final season of collegiate volleyball…ranks 16th all-time at UH with 64 wins…earned her undergraduate degree from UH in public health in 2021 and is currently working on a masters in Pacific Island Studies.

Jaime Santer (Toronto, Calif.) is a four-year starter for the BeachBows…has earned all-Big West honors in each of the previous three seasons, including first-team honors during her freshman campaign …has appeared in more than 120 career matches and ranks eighth all-time at UH with 78 dual wins… graduates this year with a degree in marketing.

Riley Wagoner (Dublin, Ohio) wraps up a decorated UH career that has seen her compete at an all-conference level on NCAA Tournament teams for both the indoor and beach squads…has earned all-Big West recognition in each of the last two years…ranks 11th all-time at UH with 71 wins…will graduate with degrees in chemistry & women's, gender, and sexual studies.

'Bow Bits: UH has used 16 different pairing combinations this year…the No. 1 pair of Jaime Santer-Alana Embry and the duo of Sydney Amiatu-Riley Wagoner are the only pairs to appear in all 27 matches together…Anna Maidment and Sydney Miller, who were named the Big West Pair of the Week on Monday, have been the winningest pair in the lineup going 17-5 (.773) overall, including 17-4 (.810) at the No. 5 flight...they have won nine of their last 11 matches.  

All-Time Series Records: The BeachBows are 8-2 all-time against GCU…this will be the first meetings since 2022 when GCU won twice at the Ching Courts…prior to that, UH had won all eight meetings between the squads….UH is 4-0 all-time against Portland…this will be the first meeting in Honolulu…Chaminade, which is officially in its first season on the collegiate level, will will play UH for the first time.   
 
All-Time At Ching Complex: The Rainbow Wahine hold a stellar 32-10 (.762) record at the Ching Complex since starting play there in 2015…UH is 12-10 (.545) against ranked teams at Ching and perfect 20-0 against unranked teams.

Versus Ranked Squads: UH is 100-92 (.521) all-time versus ranked squads, including 3-11 this season…all 11 losses have come against Top 10 squads and eight have come against Top 5 teams. 

Versus Unranked Squads: UH is 144-4 (.973) all-time vs. unranked squads, including 13-0 this year…the 'Bows are 63-1 all-time against unranked teams in Honolulu.
