MARICOPA, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in 22
nd place Tuesday at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club and was led by senior
Blaze Akana, who tied for 31
st place.
After firing a 6-under 66 in Round 1, the Honolulu native carded rounds of 73 and 74 to finish at 3-under 213. Akana was the lone Rainbow Warrior to finish under par.
Grand Canyon captured the team title at 833 followed by UNLV (835), Iowa State (836), USC (838), and Cal State Fullerton (843). UNLV's Yuki Moriyama ran away with medalist honors at 17-under 199 after a final round 64 while ISU's Luke Gutschewski (204) finished runner-up.
Josh Hayashida shot a final round 72 to finish at 7-over 223 and a tie for 98
th place. Also competing for the Warriors were

th).
UH will next compete in the Western Intercollegiate, April 15-17 at the Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif.
