Box Score HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (5-11, 0-2 Big West) fought hard but fell in its penultimate home match to 46th-ranked UC Santa Barbara, 5-2. The highlight for Hawai'i was UH's No. 1
Quinn Snyder upset 44th-ranked Pablo Masjuan in straight sets on Thursday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
The Gauchos took the doubles point, winning on Courts No. 2 and No. 3. UH's No. 1 duo of
Karl Collins and
Andy Hernandez were knotted at 5-5 against UCSB's Kai Brady and Masjuan but the match went unfinished.
In singles, UC Santa Barbara struck early and often, clinching the match with straight set wins at No. 2, 5 and 6. But then, Snyder broke through with a dominant 6-2, 6-3 win over 44th-ranked Masjuan. UH's No. 3 Collins finished falling just short by a break in both sets against Lucca Liu, 6-4, 6-4. With the match already decided,
Guillaume Tattevin held off UCSB's Luka Mrsic on the No. 4 court in a third set super-tiebreaker. Tattevin won the first set, then fell in a tie-breaker that ended the second set, but was strong down the stretch to win the Super Tie-breaker for the win, 6-3, 6-7 (7-4), 1-0 (10-5).
The Rainbow Warriors will close out their home schedule with Senior Day against Cal Poly (5-6, 0-0 Big West) on Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex. Both seniors -

Guillaume Tattevin will be honored after the match.
