Box Score HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team gave No. 2 Michigan all it could handle before falling 4-1 Friday at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
The Rainbow Wahine took one of the three doubles matches and one of the four completed singles contests. The other two singles matches were leaning in favor of Hawai'i before it was abandoned.
 
UH's Nikola Homolkova upset 46^th-ranked Gala Mesochoritou, 6-3, 6-3 to grab the team's lone point at the No. 3 court. In doubles play, Homolkova teamed with Ana Vilcek to defeat the Wolverines' Kari Miller and Anna Ross, 6-1, at No. 1.
 
Michigan managed to win courts 2 and 3 in doubles to secure the 1-0 advantage. Mesochoritou and Jaedan Brown defeated UH's Anna Kern and Hannah Galindo, 6-2 to clinch the point.
 
In singles competition, the Wolverines won on courts 6 and 5 to take a 3-0 lead in the match before Homolkova put UH on the board. Michigan clinched the match after Kari Miller's 7-5, 6-0 win over Vilcek at court 1.
 
Meanwhile, UH's Nelly Knezkova was leading her match against 18^th-ranked Julia Fliegner, 6-3, 1-6, 4-0 and Galindo was fighting to get back in her match against Brown, leading 5-3 in the second set after dropping the first, 6-3.
 
The Rainbow Wahine return to action with a Big West match-up against Long Beach State, Sunday, March 3 at 2:30 p.m.
