The University of Hawai'i men's golf team will make its second straight appearance at the RE Lamkin Invitational, March 4-5 at the San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
 
The 17^th annual tournament is co-hosted by San Diego State and the University of San Diego and will be held over two days at the 7,033-yard, par-72 course located 12 miles outside of downtown San Diego.
 
Competing for the Rainbow Warriors are Blaze Akana, Kolbe Irei, Dane Watanabe, Josh Hayashida, and Isaiah Kanno. Akana has competed in all six tournaments this season and leads the team with a 71.67 scoring average with eight rounds under par. Irei is second on the team with a 72.11 average and posted the team's best score at the John Burns Intercollegiate with a 1-under 215 total.
 
Participants will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start of 7:30 a.m. PT and 18 holes on Tuesday with tee times off of holes No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT.
 
The 16-team field is headlined by fourth-ranked Washington and defending champion 19^th-ranked New Mexico. Six other teams are also ranked in the Top 50 – No. 13 Georgia Tech, No. 29 LSU, No. 31 San Diego State, No. 41 Loyola Marymount, No. 43 Brigham Young, and No. 48 Fresno State.
 
Making up the rest of the field are Cal Poly, Colorado, Colorado State, UH, Saint Mary's, San Diego, Santa Clara, and Wyoming.
 
UH is coming off a 17^th place finish at the John Burns Intercollegiate two weeks ago in Līhu'e, Kaua'i. Following the Lamkin Invite, UH will take the next several weeks off before competing in the Cowboy Classic, April 1-2 in Maricopa, Ariz.
