ST. GEORGE, Utah — The University of Hawai'i swimming teams will look to build upon a strong start by the diving squads when the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming and Diving Championships resume this week in St. George, Utah.
UH swept through the MPSF Diving Championships held Feb. 11-14 in Mission Viejo, Calif., and the Rainbow Wahine and Rainbow Warrior swimmers get their turn starting Wednesday. The MPSF Swimming Championship opens with the women's and men's 200 medley relays and 800 freestyle relays on Wednesday and the meet runs through Saturday at the Utah Tech Human Performance Center.
The Rainbow Wahine enter the meet as defending women's champions after capturing their sixth title in seven years last season. The Rainbow Warriors will seek the men's program's third MPSF title and first since claiming back-to-back championships in 2019 and '20.

• The MPSF Championships will be the first competition for the UH swimming teams since hosting dual meets with Fairfield on Jan. 2 and Ohio State on Jan. 5 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
• UH divers claimed all six titles at the conference meet Feb. 11-14. The Rainbow Wahine racked up 198 points led by
Elma Lund's titles in the women's 3-meter and platform events and
Isabelle Lombardi's victory in the 1 meter. The UH men tallied 111 points, second behind Incarnate Word's 117, with
Juan Gonzalez winning the 3 meter and platform and
Mackaby Pennington claiming the 1 meter title.
• UH is the top seed in the men's 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay. The Warriors are the second seed in the 400 medley relay. Individual top seeds are
Mario Surkovic (200 IM) and
Jakub Ksiazek (50 free).
• The Rainbow Wahine are seeded first in the women's 400 free relay and second in the 800 free relay, 200 free relay. Individual top seeds are

• Surkovic was twice named MPSF Male Athlete of the Week (Nov. 22 and Jan. 10) and Bukovics earned the award the week of Oct. 18. Selling claimed the women's award on Jan. 10.
• The Rainbow Wahine won last year's team title with a total of 773.5 points. The Rainbow Warriors placed third in the men's standings with 569.5 points.
