LIHU'E, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team concluded the final round of the 47
th John Burns Intercollegiate with a 305 Saturday at the Ocean Course Hokuala. The Rainbow Warriors concluded the tournament with a 900 total and 17
th place finish.
No. 10 Arizona captured its fourth Burns Intercollegiate team title and first since 2004 edging out California by three strokes with an 844 total. Cal (847) was runner-up followed by New Mexico (854), Grand Canyon (857), and Texas A&M (861).
UNM's Bastien Amat took medalist honors at 13-under 203, five strokes ahead of Yannick Malik of Arizona. UH's top finisher was
Kolbe Irei, who shot a final round 2-under 70 to finish in a tie for 23
rd place at 1-under 215.
Irei was the only Rainbow Warrior under par for the day after carding four birdies and two bogeys on his round.
Blaze Akana shot 77 and finished at 226 for a tie for 81
st.
Dane Watanabe tied for 93
rd place with a 229 total after a final round 81.
