HONOLULU — University of Hawai'i women's basketball head coach Laura Beeman announced the additions of five players to a signing class that stretches from Down Under to the Pacific Northwest.
The Rainbow Wahine coaching staff restocked the backcourt for the 2025-26 season by signing four guards and a wing player during the early signing period. The 'Bows strengthened their connection to Australia in signing guards Teyahna Bond and Ella Collins and wing Kyra Webb. They will also welcome guard Bailey Flavell, a member of New Zealand's national team, and Keiara Curtis, a standout guard from Seattle, Wash.
Including the incoming class for 2025, UH has signed nine players from Down Under in the last three years. The latest signees are slated to join a UH roster that currently includes three players from Australia (sophomore Jade Peacock and freshmen Kira-May Filemu and Danijela Kujovic) and two from New Zealand (freshmen Rebecca Moors and Ritorya Tamilo).
Teyahna Bond
Guard, 5 foot 9
Cairns, Australia
St. Monica's College
• Played with the Cairns Dolphins in Australian NBL One and averaged 13.2 points and 3.3 assists per game in the 2024 season.
• Averaged 13.5 points per game for Queensland in Australia's U20 National Championships
• Competed for Australia's national program in the 2023 FIBA U17 Women's Oceania Championship, averaging 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
• Helped Australia capture gold at the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup in June.
Coach Beeman on Teyahna Bond: "'Tee' is going to be an exciting fit for our team with her ability to score and make plays in transition. She is an all-around player who also brings outside shooting and defensive intensity. She has represented Australia in national competition and is one of the most promising young players in the country. She is the type of player every great team needs and we're so excited for Tee and her 'ohana to join ours!"
Ella Collins
Guard, 5 foot 8
Canberra, Australia
St. Clare's College
• Played for Canberra in Australian NBL One East.
• Averaged 10.17 points and 4.5 rebounds for Australian Capital Territory over six games in the U20 National Championships in February.
• Played for ATC Academy in Australia and faced high-level competition in a U.S. tour last summer.
Coach Beeman on Ella Collins: "Tough and talented! Ella's on-court talents are very clear as a playmaker who really knows how to get teammates involved and make the big play when she needs to. She is also an exceptional off-court leader who brings a tenacity to every game she plays. Ella is not afraid to do whatever is required to win and that makes her our kind of player."
Keiara Curtis
Guard, 5 foot 7
Seattle, Wash.
Bellarmine Prep High School
• Named to the Washington Class 4A all-tournament team as a sophomore in 2023
• Played club basketball with the Northwest Greyhounds
Coach Beeman on Keiara Curtis: "We think Keiara is a gem who brings a great balance of scoring and playmaking to the point guard position. She has shown the ability to fill up a box score when necessary but is excellent running a team and making winning plays. She will bring great tempo to our team and will greatly improve our transition play."
Bailey Flavell
Guard, 5 foot 9
Auckland, New Zealand
Takapuna Grammar School
• Competed with New Zealand's senior national team in the FIBA World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Mexico along with current UH freshman Ritorya Tamilo.
• Played in New Zealand's youth national program and averaged a team-high 18.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in the 2024 FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup in July.
• Helped New Zealand win bronze in the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship with averages of 14.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
Coach Beeman on Bailey Flavell: "We are absolutely thrilled to have Bailey join our 'ohana. Bailey is no stranger to elite basketball having played at the national level for New Zealand, most recently representing the Tall Ferns as one of their youngest players. She is a dynamic guard with the ability to facilitate and score at all three levels. She will fit our level of play from Day 1 and we are looking forward to the immediate impact she will have."
Kyra Webb
Wing, 6 feet
Melbourne, Australia
Padua College
• Played with the Casey Cavaliers in Australian NBL One.
• Earned MVP honors at the Victorian Youth Championship in September.
• Averaged 21.9 points per game for Shark Bay in the Southern Peninsula Basketball Association.
• Named to the All Star Five in the Victorian Youth Championship in 2023.
Coach Beeman on Kyra Webb: "Kyra is a big guard! She shoots the 3 ball and can get to the rim. Her presence on the court demands attention. We will need her to fill the void of the shooting we lose in the graduation of our senior class. She can be a matchup problem with her size and skill combination. Kyra was a member of the Victorian Youth Championship Team and was selected MVP of the tournament in 2024."
